We had a busy time in May. We sent our team to compete at Kleos for a thrilling and well organised event. We also ran the first ever WaveBJJ 24 hour Grapplethon for charity and we went and took part in The Nuclear Rush 12k race which took us a lot longer than predicted.

Kleos Gi 2018

Seven of us took part in Kleos. This was an event organised by the Rasberry Ape himself at the High Wycombe Judo Centre. We came back with 4 medals and some amazing experiences. Well done to everyone who took part. The results where

Andrius: Gold in Weight and Silver in Absolute, Bethan Bronze in weight, Jamal Silver in weight.

Grapplethon

We also ran a 24 hour grapplethon. This was a charity event with all proceeds going to Children with Cancer UK. We raised over £1000 for the charity. The event was a great success with guests from all over England and some guests from Belgium and Canada as well. Thank you to Can Sonmez from Artemis BJJ for helping organise and everyone who took part, especially those who turned up in the wee hours.

A Tough Mud Run (not Tough mudder :) )

A group of seven of us took part in one of those mud runs. This was definitely one of the longest things we have ever taken part in. We entered the 12k option that had said it would take 2.5 hours... It took us 5 hours!! Not that we were slow, we attempted most of the 170+ obstacles. We also had to carry some of us (coach Lorenzo who hates running :) ). In all, it was an amazing experience. Next year, once the memory of the pain of this one has faded, am sure we will do it again. You can check out our other events if you want to take part on our events page.
